'Roid Week, day five.

My framing may have been a little off (hello tiny tower top of the gaol at the bottom there) but I'm quite pleased with this one. Even the dust from my printer looks a little like stars in the sky. I hope you'll agree that this is a nice end to 'Roid Week 2015.

'Roid Week, day four.

A little selfie today with my friend Alice, from earlier this year when we drove out to Pendennis, potentially the windiest place on Earth.

'Roid Week, day two.

Day two's picture was also taken in Newquay last summer, at the beach this time. If you look very closely you can see my friends Chuck and Jessi climbing on that big rock.

'Roid Week, day one.

The 12th-16th of October 2015 is Polaroid Week. Normally I am firmly against referring to Instax prints/cameras as Polaroids but 'Roid Week specifically includes all forms of instant photography, so just this once I'll let it slide. I'll be sharing a new picture, taken with my Instax, every day this week. Well, I say 'new' but most of them are actually kind of old. Never mind.

This first picture is from my little trip to Newquay last summer. Excuse the barbed fence, this was taken outside the zoo exit.

My first Instax prints.

I've loved shooting with film ever since I first got to use the darkroom during photography classes at school. There's something uniquely magical about actually putting an image together that way and watching it appear before your eyes and it's that which has always fascinated me about instant cameras too.

I finally got my first instant camera, a fujifilm Instax 210, as a present from my parents for Christmas last year (having grown up with film cameras they are both incredibly thankful for digital cameras and don't understand my love of film at all, but they indulge me at least) and I wanted to share with you all my first pack of instant prints.
